**The easiest way to make Santa call your phone**Use a Santa call simulator if you want an instant fake incoming call on the same phone. If you want the phone to actually ring from an incoming telephone call, use a personalized Santa service such as Portable North Pole and schedule the call to the number you choose.

Those two options look similar to a child, but they work very differently.

A simulator creates a convincing call screen inside an app. No telephone call is actually placed. A personalized calling service sends a real call to the phone number and plays a prepared Santa message when somebody answers.

## Choose the type of Santa call you want

Fastest option

### Simulated incoming call

The phone displays a Santa-themed incoming-call screen and plays prerecorded audio or video when you answer.

This works well when you want the surprise immediately and do not need another phone number to actually call the device.

More realistic

### Scheduled phone call

A service such as Portable North Pole lets you personalize the experience, enter a telephone number and schedule when Santa's message should arrive.

The telephone itself rings, but the standard Santa Call is still a prepared personalized experience rather than a live person improvising on the other end.

## Option 1: use a fake incoming-call app

This is the simplest method if you just want Santa's name and picture to appear on the screen as though he were calling.

Current Android and iPhone app stores still contain several Santa call simulators. Their features vary, but the basic idea is usually the same: choose Santa, select audio or video, decide when the simulated call should appear and hand the phone to the child.

For example, the current Android app **Santa Claus Call** explicitly describes its voice and video calls as simulations and supports scheduled calls. On iPhone, apps such as **Santa Call Prank & Countdown** also make clear that the incoming calls and video chats are simulated rather than real telephone connections.

### Install a Santa call simulator

Use the official App Store or Google Play listing rather than downloading an APK or installation file from an unknown website.

### Choose voice or video

Some apps offer only audio, while others show a prerecorded Santa video after the call is answered.

### Set the timing

If scheduling is available, choose a moment when the child will have the phone nearby. Otherwise, trigger the call manually.

### Let the incoming screen appear

The app imitates a normal incoming call. Answering it starts the prerecorded Santa content inside the app.

**No real telephone call is being made**A simulator can look convincing, but it is still an animation and prerecorded experience running on the same device.

## Option 2: schedule an actual phone call with PNP

Portable North Pole, usually called PNP, works differently from a prank-call simulator.

PNP lets a parent create a personalized Santa Call, add information about the recipient and specify the telephone number that should receive it. The call can then be scheduled for a chosen time.

That means the phone receives an actual incoming telephone call rather than simply displaying a fake call interface.

### Create or sign in to a PNP account

PNP stores personalized calls and videos in the user's account.

### Choose a Santa Call

Select the call experience that best matches the child or family member receiving it.

### Add the personalization

Enter only the information needed for the chosen message, such as the recipient's name and other supported details.

### Enter the destination number

Check the number carefully before confirming so the surprise does not reach the wrong phone.

### Schedule the call

Pick a time when somebody will be available to answer and keep the phone nearby.

PNP's current site continues to offer personalized Santa videos and calls for the 2026 season, and its official Android app was updated in August 2026\.

## Fake call vs. personalized phone call

### Choose a simulator if...

you want something immediate, you want to control exactly when the screen appears, or you only need the effect of an incoming call.

### Choose PNP if...

you want the phone number to receive an actual incoming call and you prefer a message personalized with information about the recipient.

For younger children, the difference may not matter much. For older kids who recognize how a normal phone behaves, an actual incoming call can feel more convincing.

## Can Santa video call you too?

Yes, but again there are two different meanings behind “video call.”

Many prank apps simply play a prerecorded Santa video inside a call-style interface. Portable North Pole also offers what it describes as a **Video Call**, but its help center clearly identifies that product as a video-call simulation rather than a live one-to-one conversation.

PNP separately offers other interactive Santa experiences, so it is worth reading the product description rather than assuming every option works the same way.

## Check permissions and purchases before handing over the phone

Santa call apps are entertainment apps, and their privacy practices are not identical.

Before installing one, check the privacy section in Google Play or the App Store, especially if the app requests access to photos, camera, microphone, location or device identifiers.

Also check whether the experience you want is included for free. Many apps can be downloaded without paying but contain advertising or in-app purchases.

**“Free to download” does not always mean every Santa call is free**Review the purchase screen before giving the device to a child, particularly if your Apple or Google account allows purchases without an additional password or biometric confirmation.

## How to make the surprise work better

Timing matters more than making the setup complicated.

Put the phone somewhere the child will hear it, turn the volume up and make sure Do Not Disturb or another focus mode will not interfere with the experience.

If you are using a simulator, test it once before the surprise so you know how long the delay is and what happens after answering. If you are using a scheduled phone service, keep an adult close enough to help if the child misses the call.

You do not need to make the message frightening or use Santa as a threat. A simple Christmas greeting, a mention of the child's name or a reminder that Christmas is getting close is usually enough to create the effect.

## Frequently asked questions

Can I make Santa call my phone for free?

Some Santa call simulator apps can be downloaded and used without an upfront purchase, although they may contain ads or paid features. Personalized calling services can require an individual purchase or subscription depending on the current offer.

Does a fake Santa call use a real phone number?

Usually not. A call simulator creates the incoming-call experience inside the app. Services such as Portable North Pole work differently and can send a scheduled personalized call to a real telephone number.

Is a Santa video call live?

Most Santa video-call apps use prerecorded or simulated content. PNP also describes its standard Video Call product as a simulation, so check the product description if you specifically want a live interactive experience.
